COURSE DESCRIPTION

Healthcare consumerism is putting the economic purchasing power and decision-making in the hands of residents and caregivers. Prospective residents are demanding more and better engagement with providers. First impressions originate and are rooted during admissions. This program is dedicated to examining these issues and solutions from all sides: the resident/family, facility staff, and owners/operators. Armed with facts, providers will be able to better leverage technology and talented employees to ensure positive first impressions with every new admission.

AT THE END OF THIS PRESENTATION YOU WILL BE ABLE TO:

Explain the importance of first impressions as they apply in the long-term care admissions process
Describe the four attributes of empathy and how they can be used to create a positive first impression
Identify the do’s and don’ts involved with making sure the admissions process is a positive experience for the patient

Instructor Bio: Ari Shabat, MBS, LNHA Bio

Ari Shabat is a long-term care veteran and Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, whose first job as a teenager was in the admissions department at one of the nursing homes owned by his father. Ari is the founder and CEO of Red Arrow Management/Reside Admissions. In his prior role, Ari was the Co-Founder and CEO of Pharmore Drugs–an LTC pharmacy based in the Chicagoland area, which he sold CVS in 2017. In his current role, he leverages his 18-year healthcare track record to provide innovative solutions and technologies that improve resident experience and corporate outcomes. He earned an MBA in Business Administration and Management and a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications from Loyola University Chicago. Ari enjoys spending his free time with Shana, Tali, Shalvi, Aviva and Shimmy, while also focusing on personal growth and development.
